Joseph Bell was a multi-faceted athlete
and notable scholar while at Jesuit. His athletic abilities saw him excelling in football and in track. He lettered in football all four years specializing in defense by leading the Rangers to two TCIL State Football Championships in his junior and senior years. His accomplishments on the gridiron won him many honors. In his senior year, Bell was named Defensive Player of the Year, received TCIL All-State Honors and made The Dallas Morning News Greater Dallas and Dallas Times Herald All-Metro teams. In Track & Field, Bell was a three year Jesuit letterman, winning MVP honors and racking up many 1st place awards in individual events. His most significant Track & Field accomplishment was winning TCIL State titles his senior year in both discus and shot put. Bell further distinguished himself by going on to play football for the University of Colorado where he lettered three years, was on a Big Eight Championship team and played in the Orange Bowl. He is married to his lovely wife, Brenda and they have a son, Louis Picon. Bell is currently a commercial diver working for Cal-Dive International.
