Jesuit-Sheaner Relays will feature another outstanding field

The Jesuit-Sheaner Relays are Saturday, and once again, the event is attracting top athletes from around the state (and beyond).

Field events begin at 8 a.m. and the morning session running begins at 9:15. The afternoon running session, with most of the finals, begins at 2:15. You can find a detailed schedule of the day’s events here.

The great Herb Sheaner always helps out with a guide to some of the expected highlights of the day. We’ll have a preview online and in Saturday’s newspaper, but here are some things about this year’s Relays that I can pass along from Sheaner, the track and field guru.

Eighty-eight teams have entered. All of the area’s top high school track teams are entered and that includes the 5A 2012 state champions from DeSoto, 4A champions from Lancaster and 3A champions Celina.
